 We're still pinching ourselves to have Aimee join us - with her illuminant retail resume and exceptional service rapport. From spearheading the opening of the Hamilton Città store in 2014 to being an integral part of the Ruby fold for going on 9 years. Aimee is an expert in her craft, with the ability to make you feel confident, timeless and experimental in your dressing. She is everything Found is, and we are so delighted to have her.

 Aimee has undeniable taste, and we couldn't wait to pick her brains on all things style, through to potluck recipes and after work drinks.

Aimee - hello! Tell us a bit about you and your journey to becoming our new Found Sales Manager?

 

Hello! I am a capricorn, mum to one darling boy and one dog Bones. My Husband Tam and I moved here from Wellington in 2013, and love now calling Hamilton our home. I have worked in sales and retail nearly my whole life, more recently opening the Hamilton Citta store in 2014 and working for Ruby between Wellington and Hamilton on and off for 9 years. I am super passionate about exceptional customer experiences and have worked in sales training and sales manager roles throughout my time in the retail world. I’m so excited to be on board with the Found team! 

 

First things first - how would you describe your style? 

 

I love to stand out, have a bit of an edge or interest always to my look, be playful, colourful and love a bit of a pattern or colour clash. 

 

 

 

What is your go to pot luck recipe? 

 

Lately it’s been an Ottolenghi roast cauliflower with herby tahini dressing so yum! You can find the link here

 

What fashion trend do you find baffling?

 

I find trends generally so interesting, but I guess the nude/beige head to toe look - a la Kardashians - I cannot (personally) get on board with! 

 

What is your go to skincare hack?

 

Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate! Love the Osmosis cranberry enzyme exfoliant, always feel so good after this one followed by a heavy dose of serum. 

What has been your biggest surprise about motherhood and what has your son inherited from you? 

There are so many; such a hard question to answer! The sleep deprivation? How my feet grew one size? How hard/wonderful it actually is!? My son definitely inherited my curly blonde hair! And personality for sure.

How has your style evolved as a mother?

I’ve definitely settled into a new way of approaching how I dress, my clothing still needs to be playful and fun but I have confidence now to be more experimental, and to dress for myself rather than follow along. As a mum too you need to be more flexible and agile so my style is definitely more wearable, comfortable but still - ‘im a cool mom’!

What's your favourite part about what you do?

Honestly I truly love meeting people, helping them find beautiful things to wear and seeing their confidence show through when they find that perfect fit. Clothing is so powerful and magical, it's transformative and exciting as well as being such an important part of how we enter the world and how we hold ourselves.

If I asked you to name your favourite look of your life - what would it be?

I loved my 2nd outfit on my wedding day, black satin tuxedo pants, and a  cream raw silk cape top by World, with a red lip and black pumps.

Go to alcoholic drink: Rosé or Champagne

Go to nonalcoholic drink: Loving a rhubarb tonic water at the moment with fresh mint 

Go-to styling hack: Pop of colour on the lip for me can nearly always transform a look

Oldest piece in your wardrobe: I have some pretty amazing archive pieces from the early-mid 2000s at Ruby, one of my most treasured is a cobalt blue fine wool suit. 

Newest piece in your wardrobe: I’m such a shirt lover, so couldn’t resist the Friend of Audrey core oversized stripe shirt, on high rotation right now!
